Hey there. I have been busy with my new hobby. LOL I pulled out my scanner that I brought with me from the states when me moved here. Had not used it since we moved. I wanted to scan some old photos in to use for my scrapbooking. I plugged it in. Started it up.....no go! Damn. I called Hp to see if they could help me. Yeap...it was dead. They offered to send me a new one if I pay for it. At the cost of over $100....I told them no thank you. I then went and ordered a new one from a reputable dealer on ebay. Waited and waited for it to arrive. It finally arrived. I pulled it out of the box. The back of the case was cracked. I said Shit....but at least I have a working scanner. I then installed all the software.....plugged it in.........the damn lamp on it did not turn on! DAMN!!!! I am having no luck....So I call HP.....since this was a brand new out of the box scanner....thought they would help me. I got online with a live tech.After spending an hour with a them, going thru all the steps they finally admit Yes it is broken. Yes I am under warrenty. Yes they will send me a new one. I then proced to giving them my military APO address. Oppsssss. They say they can not send a new one to a military apo address.. I am now getting really really mad. I say can I talk to a supervisor. I get the same thing. They give me a phone number to call. I call that number......go thru the whole testing routine again and start to give THAT person my apo address. They now say that HE can not send me one either. By now I am livid. I finally get him to give me a help number at HP for military stationed outside of the continental us. I call this number.......HELP finally arrives. She gets on we go through the testing ONE more time. This time when I give her my military apo number she says no problem I will get a brand new one in the mail to you immediatly. Wow! someone who can actually help me. But I am now waiting for that new one to arrive. It has been over a week and a half already. I sure hope it gets here today!
I am also in the process of trying to get a new computer. I want to pick up a iMAC. They are built for graphics work. And that is mostly what I do now days.
I am also pissed becasue I back up all my photos onto dvd. Well I do that and then I double check that I can get into the disk and even that I can move them back and forth from the disk to the harddrive. Well I then go and wipe out those photos from my hard drive since they are now saved to dvd. I wanted to print a photo from one of the saved files on that dvd the other week. I open the dvd and I find out that I can not get them off of there!!!!!!! FUCK! What the heck???? Something has happened to my dvd. I then go online and buy some data recovery software for dvds. No go! Still can not get the photos off! I have now lost over 2000 photos that I have taken this year. I call my Dad and he says send him the disk he might be able to do something to help me. So I now have to get that into the mail.
Another probem crops up. Hubby's laptop dies! He comes to me and says can I get into it for him. Now this is after I have told him for 3 years back up your data! I even bought him a spool of blank cds to copy his stuff on to. Did he do it???? Nope. So now he has lost all his data and photos! So I have to order him a new laptop hard drive and a new copy of Windows! Still waiting on that to arrive.
Also my car battery died. I had to buy a new one at the cost of $120!!!! We then go to take the car in for it's yearly inspection. It fails. The first aid kit is out of date. It needs a new one. Ok that is cheap only $15. But they also tell me that the back right hand side tire is too worn and I have to get a new one. Oh my god! So that means another expense over $220. I have to buy both new tires for the back.
What the heck????? When it rains it pours! I am sooooo tight with money right now it is not even funny. It is getting really really hard to save for that new pc.
